Before that he<br \/>was employed in a number of research and analytical roles.<\/p><p>Whilst an analyst in the City he also worked on a wide range of corporate finance and related<br \/>assignments around M&amp;A and raising equity and debt as well as the provision of strategic<br \/>advice. In addition to the privatisations of Finnair and Lufthansa, he participated in numerous<br \/>other share issues in the aerospace and transport sectors, including airlines, airports,<br \/>manufacturers for both large and small companies which also involved acting for and a<br \/>refinancing of Eurotunnel.<\/p><p>In 2002 he established CTAIRA as a specialised aviation advisory and consulting business with an<br \/>exceptionally strong research basis. Its primary focus is on civil aviation with a particular and<br \/>proven expertise that is applied to a broad spectrum of business and economic issues. CTAIRA<br \/>has worked for companies across the sector and also advised governments and regulators.<\/p><p>CTAIRA operates at the highest levels (generally the Board) within companies where it provides<br \/>a number of distinct but clearly inter-related activities and particularly:<br \/><strong>Research and analysis<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Pure and applied research for clients where this often involves detailed diagnostic<br \/>studies to identify, evaluate and understand the issues<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Consulting and Advisory<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Application of experience to research and analysis to provide options and<br \/>solutions to clients<\/li><li>Provision of advice in respect of issues faced by clients or in response to particular events<\/li><li>Economic and related issues including regulation<\/li><\/ul><p>Chris has an undergraduate degree in Economics and a postgraduate degree in Labour<br \/>Economics. He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a Fellow of the Chartered<br \/>Institute of Logistics and Transport where he is chair of the Aviation Policy Group; He is also a<br \/>Liveryman of the Honourable Company of Air Pilots and a Council Member of the Air League.<br \/>Chris has written a monthly column for Airline Business since May 1999; he is also a regular<br \/>conference speaker and media commentator on issues associated with the economics and<br \/>business of civil aviation and in the past on other transport sectors. He also lectures at a number<br \/>of universities. He has been and is also currently on a number of advisory boards.
